Peer Review Process

SYNERGY uses editorial screening followed by peer review for manuscripts considered suitable for the journal.

  1. Initial screening: editors check scope, originality, completeness, research ethics, and compliance with submission requirements.
  2. Expert assessment: suitable manuscripts are evaluated for the research question, literature, methods, evidence, interpretation, and contribution to Islamic economics and finance.
  3. Editorial decision: editors consider reviewers’ recommendations and may accept, request revisions, request further review, or reject a manuscript.
  4. Revision: authors submit a revised manuscript and a response to the review comments. Substantial changes may require another assessment.
  5. Production: accepted manuscripts proceed to editing and proof checking before publication.

Reviewers and editors must keep unpublished work confidential and disclose conflicts of interest. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit. Submission does not guarantee acceptance; review times depend on manuscript complexity and reviewer availability.

Authors may send a reasoned appeal through the editorial office, identifying the submission and the specific grounds for reconsideration.
