Publication Ethics

SYNERGY expects authors, editors, and reviewers to maintain honesty, transparency, and fairness in scholarship on Islamic economics and finance.

Authors

Submit original work, accurately report methods and findings, cite sources, and obtain permission for reused material. Do not fabricate financial data, manipulate results, conceal contradictory evidence, or submit the same work to multiple journals. All listed authors must make a substantive contribution and approve the submission. Disclose funding and conflicts of interest, including relationships with financial institutions or businesses studied.

Research participants and data

Where applicable, explain ethical review, informed consent, confidentiality, and protections for participants. Anonymize private customer, employee, and institutional information. Describe restrictions on proprietary datasets and avoid publishing information without permission.

Editors and reviewers

Assess manuscripts fairly, maintain confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and avoid using unpublished findings for personal advantage. Editors decide on scholarly merit and provide a process for addressing concerns.

Concerns and corrections

Report suspected misconduct to the editorial office with supporting evidence. Editors will seek clarification from relevant parties and determine appropriate action, including correction or retraction where warranted. See Retraction Policy.
