Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Sharia and Society (SAS) will go through an editorial screening and peer-review process before publication.

Review Process:

  • The editor checks the manuscript’s suitability with the focus and scope of the journal.
  • The manuscript is screened for originality and compliance with author guidelines.
  • Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to reviewers.
  • The journal applies a double-blind peer review system, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed.
  • Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on originality, methodology, clarity, academic contribution, and relevance.
  • The editor makes the final decision based on reviewers’ recommendations.

Editorial Decisions may include:

  • Accepted
  • Accepted with minor revisions
  • Revisions required
  • Resubmit for review
  • Rejected

The review process normally takes approximately 4 to 8 weeks, depending on the availability of reviewers and the quality of the submitted manuscript.
